Sony Ericsson has been putting a lot of marketing muscle behind its Vivaz range of smartphones over the past few months, highlighting HD video capabilities and stills camera prowess as reasons we might want to buy one. The ads do a good job of making them look sexy too. We have the Pro model on review here, and it's surprisingly slim and light for a phone equipped with a sliding Qwerty keyboard. We also like the curved, elliptical profile - it makes the Pro one of the easiest smartphones around to slide into your pocket.

Swing out screen. Although I haven't experienced anything bad about it yet, I'm somewhat worried about an exposed ribbon cable under the screen. I've had a camcorder with a ribbon cable that broke and left the swing out screen useless. I hope this doesn't happen to this. Others have complained about the loose hinge, but mine didn't have a problem. I also have a hard acrylic shell on both sides (adds weight) and when I hold it upside down, it doesn't pop out fully. You also don't want too much resistance because you wouldn't want to make opening a phone a 2 hand operation.
