Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro U8i WHITE

Sony Ericsson has been putting a lot of marketing muscle behind its Vivaz range of smartphones over the past few months, highlighting HD video capabilities and stills camera prowess as reasons we might want to buy one. The ads do a good job of making them look sexy too. We have the Pro model on review here, and it's surprisingly slim and light for a phone equipped with a sliding Qwerty keyboard. We also like the curved, elliptical profile - it makes the Pro one of the easiest smartphones around to slide into your pocket.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro U8i

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro has landed, bringing a slide-out QWERTY keyboard to the company's HD video-toting handset, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, which we reviewed earlier in the year. That summary does the Vivaz pro an injustice however: although it shares the same design and similar hardware, the character of the phone is different in several areas. The design sticks to Sony Ericsson's "human design" ethos and like the Vivaz, it has that curved back and slightly narrow profile. The addition of the keyboard means that the Vivaz pro is thicker, but not so thick as to make it unwieldy. The dimensions come out at 109 x 52 x 15mm and it weighs 117g.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro (Unlocked Quadband) GSM Cell Phone

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro, the slide-out keyboard is a major element, Sony Ericsson have managed to retain the good looks of the "original" handset, adding just 2mm in thickness and 20 grams in weight. But for some unfathomable reason, the camera on the Vivaz Pro has been downgraded to a 5 megapixel one from an 8 in the Vivaz.almost everything else is identical to the standard Vivaz including the rather lovely 3.2" 360 x 640 pixel touchscreen display, 3.5G and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, microSD expandable memory (with 8GB included in the standard sales package) and a FM radio. The video camera is capable of capturing HD video, which is still quite rare at the moment. Software support includes the now-usual slew of social networking apps, and the whole thing is running on the Symbian operating system.the keyboard looks very good, with a simple, conventional layout and wide spacing between the keys.
